I picked my LR3 up from the dealer after the 24 month service and on the way home the tire pressure light came on. It was then that I noticed that I had just crossed over 10,000 miles.
Not sure if the mileage has anything to do with it.
I haven't checked the tire pressure, but wouldn't that be something they do at the service center?
Does the indicator light go off when the tire inflation is where it should be?

Nothing to do with your mileage, it's just coincidence I guess. Yes, they should check your tire pressure (and rotate them, I think?) at the 24/mo service... Either they screwed up the numbers or you actually do have an air leak. In any event, check and adjust the pressure when the tires are cold, then allow the car to roll for a while before the light on the dash extinguishes, the wheel sensors don't start sending pressure data to the TPMS module until you have been running for x minutes at a certain sustained speed. If you have a full sized spare, check pressure of that tire as well, it's monitored (compact spares aren't.)

PS: You have put 10K miles on your LR3 in 2 years? How do you low-mileage guys do it? It takes me 3-4 months to add 10K on mine... :frown:

I'll give the guys at the LR service center know what happened and see if they did anything with the tires. Something tells me they didn't do the pressure check, which makes me a little mad.

Oh, and I live in Hawaii, so not a whole lot of places to drive around here! It's one of the things that makes it somewhat affordable to have a Land Rover with the gas prices, etc.

Don't trust a LR dealer, or any dealer, to pay attention to tires much. I've seen rotation on a few service calls, but they even say that tires fall out of their realm once when I asked. Only when doing an alignment do I really expect them to be sure that tire pressures are right.
