I need some guidance if anyone has any insight. In December I purchased a 2008 LR3 with 30K miles on it. The truck was in tip-top shape and no issues.

In February, my wife got hit by someone who admitted fault -- he was reaching for something in his passenger seat and drifted over into her lane and scraped the entire driver's side of the car from the front to the back. No frame or door frame damage, and was assured by the insurer-authorized body shop that they would be able to fix it to "new condition."

Five weeks later (yes, five weeks) they finally had the car "fixed," and I picked it up on Friday. As I was pulling out of the parking lot, the dashboard began to light up like a Christmas tree, displaying multiple faults, including the complete disengagement of the air suspension system. Needless to say, I turned right around and returned the truck, took them for a test ride, and all of the same problems happened immediately. They seemed surprised, and didn't leave me with a lot of confidence that they understand the complex systems in the LR3.

They currently have the truck back and say they are going to try to fix it. Am I correct that it is unlikely that these guys know how to diagnose and fix whatever is going on with the computer system? Should I insist that the truck be turned over to an authorized dealer to fix? Should I demand an extended warranty on the affected systems from the tortfeasor/insurer?

I am very frustrated at this point, and would appreciate any insight.
