Hi,

I've learned so much from RWO and have finally joined the community and purchase a 2001 Disco II SE-7 myself.
Now, after I've got the vehicle, I've noticed there's a small angle of tilt to the right and I don't know if this is the characteristic of the Disco or is something wrong with it. Can someone please help me with this problem?

Thanks,
Vernon

It is very Characteristic of the Disco. Sounds like the springs are in need of replacement. Oddly enough they tend to wear down after a few years and needs replacing. When Mine did this, I went with a 2" lift.

It is not something you have to fix, unless it just bugs you.

do you have OME Springs installed? if so, the driver side springs are slighty taller than those on the passengers side, causing the truck to lean to one side. its nothing to worry about, its part of their design.

No, the dealer informed that this car is all original. Does other Disco II or other LR line have this sort of tilt? or will an accident cause this to happen?

Thanks for the reply..
I've just found out that my disco is equipped w/ SLS (self leveling system)...
and a friend of mine inform me that this might be the case. Can someone confirm why? Thanks again in advance.

SLS, if the rear sensors are off, it will lean to one side or the other. Check to ensure that the sensors are clean of debris and are at the same level.

Herovc,
How many miles on your truck??
SLS can cause a little anlge but the odds are with your front springs slowly collapsing, common for factory springs. Don't panic though, what do you plan to do with the truck? If you are going to be doing alot of off roading them a set of OME front springs along with all 5 shocks and you will be in heaven. If mild driving, and it is the front springs, the are some insolator/spacers made by Rover, sold thru E.E., that you can use to adjust the height easily.
Get back to me.
By the way, I have the same suspension set up and know it well.

Hi Discomike,
My disco has about 41000 miles on it and the truck leans more noticeable at the front passenger side than at the back. I've measured it and the passenger front wheel is 1 to 1.5 inch lower than the driver front wheel on flat surface. Btw, I agree with you that there's very little to do w/ the SLS coz its only leveling at rear. And the lean is mostly at the front......
I don't intend to do alot of off-roading...maybe mildly but not ********. Any suggestion as to how to fix it? You've mentioned something of an insolator/spacers made by Rover thru E.E. What's E.E. and where can I find them?
Thanks all for the great input.

According to my manual, there are 2 different types of SLS:
SLS = Self Leveling System - Leveling rear height mostly for trailing purpose and for commencing or ending of a steep hill climb or decent
SLS = Self Leveling Suspension - Leveling both front and rear i guess mostly for off-roading
As far as I know, not all disco 2 equip w/ either of these gadget. The button of such system is located right below the "hill decent" button in disco 2. I don't know about disco 1 though.
