Not sure if any of you got a chance to see the following thread posted on a RR Sport forum. Several LR3 and 2005/6 RR owners and dealers have confirmed the hack works on their cars as well (same nav system as the Sport): http://www.rangerovers.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7209

I own a RR Sport, but I thought I would spread the good news to all LR owners that can/want to take advantage of it since, for once, it's free...

If you enter the hack, can you disable it again? Or is it locked in forever?

Read the thread, please. It's temporary... like anything related to diag.

As you will read in the above linked thread, the hack is only temporary and terminates every time you turn off the engine and remove the key from the ignition ( a couple of minutes after that, actually. The nav system needs a bit of time to completely shut down.) I have not found a way to make the hack "stick", and considering how the system is designed there may not be a way to do so, but we'll keep hacking away on rangerovers.net... Still, you can reenable the hack whenever you please just by following the instructions, which is still better than the alternatives - stopping by the side of the road, pulling off the freeway or trying to hurry typing the address before the light turns green.

I wonder if any significant events in that year inspired the code choice? I took a peek to find something to help me remember it.
