D1 and D2 there are about 768 differences betweent he to if I recall correctly... but the main things... CDL not standard (center diff lock), longer tail end, Different wippers, ETC, ACE, More computer stuff (things to go wrong), different brakes and wheel bolt pattern, MAF cheaper.

A few other things, and it rides a little better.

Sound your hearing could be the resinator going bad. or it could just be the engine making noise.

If it doesn't happen all the time, then it could still be the Resinator... check it for rust or wiggle and listen for vibration...

It is the thing that looks like a second muffler. (I just removed mine, but I like my Rover to be a little loud)

Make sure you're not driving with the diff lock in low. The noise could be in the rear diff. Happened to me last year. After I bought it I drove it all over with the diff locked and didn't know it until I heard the whirring sound when I took my foot off the accelerator. Had to put in a new rear end - after I manually moved the diff lock from underneath the vehicle. Turns out the linkage was all bent too. But for the last 12 months(knock on wood) I have only experienced the normal every day problems with my 97 SE7 that everyone else at this web site has experienced. Now I just search for the problem I'm having and 99% of the time the solution is in here.
