Hi all, seen a really nice series one disco, looks totally original and standard i.e. no fancy bull bars etc. This is totally original looks like it´s been garaged the alloy wheels aren´t even pitted etc. Thing is I´ve yet to take a closer look as the car´s parked in the street however, when I go to have a proper look I need to know what to look for.

Can you guy´s post some typical thing´s to look at, it´s a diesel TDI200 engine with about 90,000 miles on the clock.

Thanks up front for your help,

Richard

With the TDI, I Presume it is not in the USA. If that is the case depending on how things rust where you are at... you will want to look it over very well for rust. Alpine windows (little windows in the back on top) check all the rubber seals for cracks (around windows). Make sure the CDL works without the engine running (the Hi/Lo - Center diff Lock) Make sure all the lights work, check for major leaks (it will leak either way, just look for large pools of fluids).

If electric seats, check to make sure both sides work, check all A/C and heat controls. Start it up and listen for any major noises. If it has sun roofs, check them as well (these go bad - the sliders that is and tend to rattle a lot)

Check to make sure the ABS light goes out after you start moving.

This should be a good start.
