I have a 98 Disco with 103K miles on it. Just today I notice that the Oil light was flickering on. I needed to get an oil change so I pulled into a Jiffy Lube and in 10 minutes new oil and ready to go.
But then as soon I was down the road the light started flickering again. Drove home and have not started since. Should I drive it to work on Monday? I have noticed some oil under the engine but nothing on the ground and never really had an oil leak in the past. Anyone please advise - All Disco suppliers / techs are closed today.

Have you ever cleaned the screen on the oil intake line that is in the sump? You have to drop the oil pan to do it. I had the same thing happen. So much gunk accumulates in the sump that it clogs the screen and intake and not enough oil can get to the engine. Once I dropped the pan and cleaned out the sludge the problem disappeared.

What is your temperature reading? If it is hot too, then you might want to back off of driving it...if not, you might have a loose wire somewhere, therefore the flickering on and off...for a week or two, my dash kept saying my parking brake was on, but it wasnt, and it worked itself out and stopped coming on during driving....lucas electronics...
