Hey everybody,

I am looking to replace my O2 sensors and was wondering if there was a cost effective way to do this. I know British Adlantic has them for $129.95. Is there anything special about them for the rovers? I found this one on ebay and was wondering why ours are so expencive? Would this sensor work for a 1999 Discovery D1 if I were to splice my old plugs to the end.

The NTK brand is known to be a decent part, the one your looking at has no brand. So I couldn't comment on them.

I don't remember where I got mine, google it.

I soldered mine & shrink tubed them. The (4) wires matched color.

If you have an autozone or Oreilly/Checkers nearby, you can get them there as well. I have a 99 D1 SD also and i found that mine uses the same O2 sensors as the 99 D2 which are $65 each (gray connectors) vs $150 each for the older (black connector) style.

One thing you have all not picked up on is that the last souple of years of D1's had 2 different set of 02's and you need to match the vin. of your truck to the 02s. If your's has the up-dated evap system and most 99's do, then you need special 02's and I doubt you will find any cheap ones available.
If you want to know the vin. range go to British Parts of Utah and check out their 02 information.

I'm not sure if you're talking about "Advanced Evap, (10/96 NAS DI & later)"

or something else.

I'm aware of (2) types of DI o2's, pre-advanced evap & advanced evap

Discovery I | '97 - '99 | '97 From VIN # VA350102 With AEL
Amazon.com: NGK 25044 Oxygen Sensor - NGK/NTK Packaging: Automotive

Amazon's pricing is weird. I got 2 last week for $60.
Monday I ordered 2 more and they were $55.
Now they're back to $60.

NTK are the OEM sensors for Land Rover. Bosch sensors for Land Rover are made by NTK, I expect others are as well since NTK are OEM for most cars.

For the Advanced Evap, you can get NTK (P/N: 25044) or Bosch (P/N: 15630).

For the Bosch, i have found them for $65.99 @ Oreilly: http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/d...over&model=Discovery&vi=1377806&keyword=15630

I have also found the NTK @ Summit Racing for $63.69 http://www.summitracing.com/parts/NGK-25044

I know that Advance Auto also carries both the NTK/NGK and Bosch in stock online and a few local stores stock them as well.
