Poor Idle V8i Disco 300 series 1999

Just had new cat fitted to my disco which had been stalling - seems to have cured the stalling, but when warm the idle speed drops to around 300rpm, almost stalls then 'slowly' creeps up in steps to a stable idle after a few seconds (circa 650rpm)

Although it's not cutting out now it's still annoying and would like to cure...pls help

This could be several things, but it sounds like a dirty IAC a/k/a Stepper Motor.
