After my last off rad trip decided to get under the car , looked above the rear drive shaft and noticed grease splattered around. It was coming from " where collapsible crash section and CV boot meet " per LR tech. notes.
Entire rear drive shaft was replaced under warranty.( It looks like you can not get just a "a coupler" like for Discovery.
This is on 2013 LR4 with about 39,000 miles. My service advisor told me that they see this but on higher mileage LR4, range rovers ( over 55,000-60,000 miles) They had the rear drive shaft is stock ( must had been a reason for it) so I got the car back , the very next day.
I have no idea for how long it was leaking and what could cause it to fail so early. I am glad I looked under the car and that it was replaced under warranty.
Better check your rear drive shaft my friends.
