Rearview Mirror

I was driving my '98 RR yesterday evening when it appears as though something burst inside of the rear-view mirror, yes inside the glass. I heard a pop like a balloon and all of sudden some type of fluid inside the mirror began to disperse and now when looking in the rear view the images look distorted, any ideas other than a new mirror of course just trying to figure out what happened??? Never experienced something like this...

this is normal (mirrors were known to have issues) at one time they were being replaced free of charge, but no longer.

Remove the mirror ASAP or it will leak all over the center concole and trust me you don't want that.

Wauw! That is the first time I hear about that, and is very strange that I never got it so far as I thought that I almost experienced everything on my Rovers, are this mirrors Liquid type!
