Yesterday on the way home 05 lr3 with 46k ran rough and seemed to struggle for power in 1st gear. screen flashed a "rep". stopped truck and restarted, 1st gear seemed normal but message still present. no check engine codes or lights. ideas?

What were you doing in 1st gear? Other than coming to a stop or starting out on a hill, I'm rarely in it. I guess I'd need more details....what do you mean by "ran rough?" Struggling for power in 1st gear...that's pretty nutty indeed.
It flashed a REP or did the message stay there? I got one of those a few weeks ago offroad along with a problem with my parking brake (actuator out of calibration). It went away after a while and the manual said it was just info and I didn't need to do anything about it.
I guess just see what happens...sometimes I think this car is too smart for its own good.

Last time I had the same problem it was because a rat or mouse had gotten into the engine and chewed through some wiring. It has happened 3 times now....
