I was shocked at the quote I got from the dealer for a rear pad change, especially given the somewhat reasonable price of the pads I bought from them. I can't imagine going there for service unless absolutely necessary. Luckily there are 4 independent LR shops in town here in Portland, so for stuff I don't want to handle I can farm it out (e.g. tranny oil change, crossover pipes).

In the 5 years we've had it, it's been no less reliable than any other car we've had, including our Honda Odyssey that went through 3 sets of brakes in the same amount of time.

No love here... Don't chase issues on a 3/4 as it will be expensive.
Yea man. My CEL lights up every 2-3 weeks for the purge valve. Then it goes away in 2 days. I leave it alone. Just fix **** when it’s broken, and do fluid changes. That’s all.
