Took the ‘13 LR4 to the local mechanic and he replaced virtually all of the coolant hoses. 83,000 miles. I kept picking up a faint smell of coolant and was thinking it was the front crossover pipe. As it turns out, as others have noted, the leak was coming from the small pipe that attaches to the back of the water pump. You can see evidence of leaking on the water pump itself. I don’t know the history of the crossover pipes, But they were still in excellent shape and not degraded at all. I did it for peace of mind. I could only source the smaller rear crossover pipe from the local land rover dealer but everything else came from Lucky8. Roughly $800 in parts and roughly $900 in labor. Not the cheapest service, but I will not worry about cooling problems now.
