I have a 1997 Disco I with 197,000 miles. This truck was just purchased and everything is pretty much stock except for a 2" lift. I am replacing U joints on the front drive shaft. Actually I am replacing the front drive shaft after a total failure of the rear U joint. I noticed that a couple of the rear flange bolts were damaged and ordered all new bolts and nuts with U joints. After inspecting the front output flange on the transfer gear box I noticed that the output flange has to be removed to remove the prop shaft bolts. Do I need to replace the nut and washer and seals when I remove the front output flange to replace the bolts? Also is there anything else that needs to be replaced while I am at this point? When the U joint failed it broke the round brace that runs parallel with the front prop shaft, I purchased it from a junk yard and see where the front bolts in but cannot find where the rear bolts on. I have looked in the shop manual and found 1 pic but it is not very detailed. Any help would be great. Thanks, Wade

You'll want to install a new output flange nylock nut. If the seal is leaking, replace that too, while you have it apart.
Not sure about what round brace you're referring to.

The brace I was refering to is actually a tie bar to tie the transfer gear box to the transmission. The shop manual shows a pic on section 41 page 3 but is not detailed enough to see where it bolts on to the transfer gear box. Thanks, Wade
