I have heard of that as well.
I do not "treat" my windows with Rainex, but I do use Rainex washer fluid and have used Rainex wipers before I transitioned to Bosch.
I never had any problems and have always been very pleased with performance.
Remember, never use Windex or anything like that on your windows.
I use only Krystal Vision glass cleaner, a specialty auto product.
Previously available under the DP brand name, now apparently transitioned to McKee's.
