I would say a carbon build up is possible and doing the seafoam on the one side will just clear up the one sides valves you have to apply to the intake so it goes into both sides of the valves.

PVC valves are in the valve cover to release gases/pressure from the engine, but to keep oil from getting out. As far as were it is put that is beyond me...

Ran seafoam through the drivers side as you mentioned and it pulled a nice vacuum and created some beautiful nasty smoke. I am hoping this resolves the slight hesitation I was experiencing. So far so good as its has not happened in a few days.
