sport mode/manual shift

hi i was driving one day and noticed my sport mode or manual shift dosen't work anymore, i also notice that the D light in the center console stays lit no mater what gear its in, even when i shut off the vehicle it remains on till the radio shuts off, i need

How mechanical are you, could be the XYZ sitch or shift position sensor.

im pretty mechanical i assume these are located in the center console?
do you have a scematic of the sensors? since im in there might as wire the phone cradle

when im in normal mode it always had the D and never shows what gear im in, sport is the only one that tells me what gear im in (as far as i know, i never really paid that much attention)

Might want to down load a free copy of a Rave CD, this will give you a complete manual and sure help you thru this.

I don't believe Rave CDs are being issued for LR3, RRS and other newer models, but you can subscribe to the GTR (it's a pay-per-view web site) and download / print the relevant sections from shop manual and/or electrical libraries for your model year: www.landrovertechinfo.com
