Before I drop $500 on a fuel pump..

Noticed a CEL this AM, P008B-00. Truck drove fine. Cleared it. Dropped kids off at daycare. Driving home, truck stalled on me at a light. Then stalled again driving. And again. Restarted with a little extra effort, but otherwise seemed ok. Pulled another code P2279. Cleared it.

At home in the driveway, truck will start and idle just fine and then just dies. Restarts, and does the same thing. Revs up to 4k no issues. No CEL at this time. Fuel trims seem ok? Seems like there is no easy way to diagnose a bad LPFP.

Watched the fuel pump drag video and took some notes, now the truck dies when you rev it up.

fuel rail pressure is 371psi at idle, which according to the video is low. Low range sensor voltage is 2.92 and high range is 1.03.

mine runs 416 and above at idle. it can be higher if its above 87 degrees and the car idles high at 1000-1100 RPM to boost the compressor and the viscus fan. Might have a bad fuel pump, low pressure pump can cause the high pressure pumps to run low PSI.

Do you have the SCV6 or the 5.0L

5.0. My first thought was the LPFP.

Well, cleaned out the MAFs, TB and all the stuff in there, made sure connections and everything were tight, disconnected the low pressure fuel line sensor.

Runs totally fine. A code for that sensor, but no other issues. Pulls hard to 90 so obviously no fuel delivery issues.

My LP Fuel sensor went bad a while back and exact same stalling issues you talked about. Theres a thread here somewhere if you decide you want to tackle it

Wow what a pain in the ass.

Two person job to swap this, one to do it and the other as your eyeballs.

New sensor is in, all good. Used an aftermarket part from FCP

Yeah, I started trying it and decided that I wasnt going to do it LOL. I had it towed to the dealer to do it as well as the fuel filler recall.
