The LR3 tends to get confused at what height is at after lifting it off the ground to change tires. To fix this just put it in access height then back to standard height. This "resets" the height sensors and you will be fine.

Yep. had mine on a lift and when they put it back on the ground it lowered all the way to the stops. Got in started it, and did just what jaamrode said and it reset.

This is part of why you're supposed to use the "lock" mode before lifting it.

Doesn't anyone read the manual anymore?!

Not only that, reading the manual before posting such questions is a great path to being self sufficient....good thing the internet existed before lr3's or people would be just sitting there all over the place with a dumb look on their faces.

Even if the information is in the manual, it doesn't mean the tire shop follows the proper procedures. So when you have to fix the problem it doesn't matter if the proper way is in the manual, it doesn't tell you how to fix it if it was done improperly.

The snide, condescending remarks gets no information out to the forum, it just upsets people that are looking for help. Just a little food for thought.

It is not condescending to suggest people make an attempt to take care of themselves.

Reading the manual, after the event, would provide the answer quicker than creating a forum post and waiting for an answer.

If one does not have a manual, a quick google search reveals the answer....

"land rover lr3 stuck lowered after tire change" in google resulted in the following in 2nd to top listing from non other than Umbertob:

Re: How to Lock Out Suspension to Lift Car

Not sure what you mean by "the suspensions try to compensate when I lift the car"... The padlock icon next to the switch on the center console switch indicates that the suspensions are locked in Crawl mode (Access height with a twist of lemon), but that won't do you much good when you put her on a lift. The wheels will still drop all the way down - as far as the suspensions can go - when you lift the vehicle off the ground. Might as well start from Off-road height as the manual recommends, you will save yourself some time - plus you'll need the extra clearance under the car to correctly position the posts of the lift. When you lower the vehicle you will be in extended or super extended off-road mode, just push the suspensions button down until the display reads "Normal height selected", and away you go.
