OK, I've got a 97' disco and the tach quit working , along with every thing else eventually. I had the alternator rebuilt and installed a new battery. Now when I come to a stop and the engine returns to idle, the tach drops out. It seems to only do this when the alternator is under load. Please help me!:confused

The tach has one very thin wire that drives the tack, may be loose, if not you need to take the rebuild back to where you got it.
