testBook

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Need a little help, once a new Camshaft Sensor is installed, does it have to be set to talk with the computer, my son the Mechanic says there is a device that we need to do this.
Something called a testBook. I found the testBook manual but am wondering about the device required to have the new Camshaft sensor talk to the computer. Just learned that there is no spark and no gas to get my LRD2. This all this a dealer function????

Testbook is not required to activate a camshaft sensor, but you issue sounds more like an alarm issue if you are not getting fuel or spark.

If the battery is fully charged, lock and unlock the doors with the remote 4 times slowly and this should reset the alarm.

testBook reply

Joey;

Thanks for the reply, my remote key entry does not work, can only use the key to lock and unlock, I tried unlocking and locking 4 times slowly but this did not work. Am getting ready to have the my LRD2 toed to the dealer, not sure what else can be done at this point.

Sadly if the remote doesn't work you are looking at a testbook (land rover 10K computer) to reprogram the remote and clear the alarm issue.

Thanks for the info, found a local repair shop and they will come and get it, they have what they need to service my LRD2.
