TATA has always done an excellent job making what ever they touch into gold.
I would be supprised if they totally forgot about our Roots.
They are to smart to do that.

TATA has had no impact on LRs design principles at this point in time. Mr Tata himself stated he would leave the brand alone to continue doing what it does best. The designs and decisions you've seen so far have been all LR based decisions. TATA just pumps money into the belly of the beast at this point...

Pumps money in? Really?!?! I hadn't read that but that would be a nice change.
Any time I have been at a company that gets bought, the higher corporate entity is just sucking money out...more than the last owner to pay off the debt.


All that said, if they let LR do what LR does, that's good.

So LR, give me a quality offroad vehicle that LOOKS LIKE AN OFFROAD vehicle. I don't need wood veneer (real or fake) and more painted surfaces. The should have a "street" options package and an "offroad" options package. Let us **** both out with tech but put the LA looks on the street version and make the offroad one look a little more like an adventure vehicle (racks, tires, wheels, etc.)

considering the range's and lr3's are mostly in the same purchasing arena as the escalades and such... i wonder if, like you said, an AWD or 2WD sport and "street" version would make sense... Im sure if you hooked it up with big rims, a turbo, and some other accents it would fill the void for those who want the Land Rover looks and brand but who never go off road.

All that said, if they let LR do what LR does, that's good.

Just recently it was announced they were putting money into both Jaguar and LR to keep them from having to file future bankruptcy etc. They also gave LR R&D money on the closing of the purchase from Ford.

Although LR may not have the working capitol to action a "2-line" system, which may be why LR accessories are so expensive vs. Ford, GM and Dodge products.

hmm, go figure nwoods has the info... man you got it all. i think maybe you should consider changing your name from nwoods to lrclopedia..

but i wonder how they get those statistics... seemed odd that somehow the escalade got 2% use it offroad... i find that to be an tallying error. and does the people who only goto the LR sponsored offroad events count for LR's %... maybe this was all answered in the original story, but im too lazy to read the whole thing right now.
