:help: I have a 96 DI SD (Severely Disabled) and need some advice.

Starters, I evidently have a nice water leak in the window seal above the right side A pillar.

As a result of bad timing, I had the lower right side kick panel down to reset the Emission Maintenance Reminder in attempt to reset the check engine light.

I had all the relays down and in the floorboard while my wife was out of town in a record rainfall for the area. She said the a/c blower was on with the truck off (bad relay).

Later, a few other bad relays poped up with corrosion which I replaced (including the Emm Main. Reminder).

Well, now the truck will crank, but no ignition, and I noticed the alarm does not work (lost the remote long ago).

At the same time the start problem cropped up, I also noticed the door locks do not function with the key lock. AKC or whatever it is called.

Fuel Psi good, battery great, tried all the alarm geewiz magic stuff per the Rave disk/owners manual,,,,naddaaa:hmpf:

I unfortunately live 3.5 hrs from anyone who recognizes Land Rover other than Space Ship! A flatbed tow for an unknown problem hurts the feelings just a tad!

Any Ideas how to trouble shoot? Any clue to door actuation/relays? Alarm bypass for troubleshoot? Lost and begging for help:confused: Help GREATLY appreciated!

Ouch, this is not good... At first I was thinking the fuel pump relay, but remember the ECU is just above the trouble area... if it were me I would remove the battery, and then pull the ECU plugs and check for corrosion as well as connectivity. I believe the BCU is right there as well if I recall correctly.. my Rave CD is not loaded on my laptop, so I can't be real sure at this moment.

I read on a forum the spider unit on this model controls the door locking/alarm functions as well. Kinda odd to have this go out at the same exact time, but seen stranger things happen. I am going to use the bypass for sale at LR to see. I did in the past have problems with it shutting down the truck when hot, then cool and fine for while.

Do you know if testbook or autologic can test the ecu's? If the Spider doohicky does not fix the problem I may need to find a truck.....:frown: Thanks for your support!! Greatly appreciated!

Yes, the testbook or autologic can test the ECU's...

I just hope that the water intrusion did not cause more issues than you can afford...

Meee too! The guts of the alarm ecu are surprisingly clean. Next I was going to take a peek at the BCU.

There is one wire which appears to route through a piece of tubing towards the drivers side. It is the top left black wire on the grey (larger, bottom) connector for the alarm ecu. It appears someone has been in here before. Problem is it is not connected to anything anymore. A gentle tug revealed the wire was not attached.

Any idea if I can get a schematic of the pins/voltage to this plug? Thanks again for the help!!!
