Trans problem

05 Range Rover 4.4. Original trans toast. Removed and torn down, hard part failure (bearing) Used trans with 44 k installed using original transfer case. New filter & fluid (10 qts of appropriate fluid) Same symptoms (less than 10 miles on this trans after installation) When going around corner or kick down, usually 1st or 2nd gear, engine will rev and then engage very harshly the downshifted gear with a loud and very harsh engagement. Same as old trans. No codes in trans using an autologic scanner. Any help or thoughts??? Reprogramming did not help.
