I looked up that particular antenna. It says grounding not required.

I ordered the grounding strap online. I haven't fitted ends on it yet, I just put it between two washers on the lift gate, and between the washer and the screw down on the antenna mount. The up side of this setup is that you can lay the antenna down to get in the garage, and for low overhead off road adventures.
