So what is the logic behind the stamped stainless shroud over the wheel nuts?

I had to smack the lug wrench with a hammer just to get the wrench onto the lug and then I had to struggle to get it off after.

WHY IS THIS?????

I'm sure there is a prefectly good explanation for this

I just wish I knew what it was.

Thanks

Perfect reasoning behind this is to make you want to go back to the dealer to buy a new set (since someone at some point has used the wrong sized socket).

Or you could just chalk it up to it was made in England....

Or that they thought the pretty covering would make the customer want to buy the vehicle.

Joey! I think the latter sentence seems the most logical.

Hey there. Is the dealer the only place to get the lug wrench from? When I bouthg my Disco II, the wrench and other toold had been removed. I now have a flat and no lug wrench. Help?

The socket size in 1 1/16 inch, you can buy the socket and a large breaker bar just about anywhere.

Hope this helps.

I bought one after nearly breaking my back (and bending a 3' breaker bar) attempting to remove a lug nut on my Disco (YES someone, not me, had way over tighten the nut). First time I used it I thought it was broken, could not detect any movement of the lug nut. However, after 9 or 10 easy lifts on the handle the nut spun free. Best tool I have bought in years.

I bent my factory lug wrench trying to get just one of those sukers off. Well... didn't get it off not even a budge. Went to Pepboys bought a truck size 4-way tire wrench. Works awesome. Had to stand on the sucker to get EVERY lug off but the 4 way held up. I now carry that with me. I guess I can use the OEM wrench to fend off would be attackers
