Yeah the "we don't budge" is a common LR dealer theme. all the sales people must attend a national seminar to say this. But once I started pitting three of the dealerships (that weren't owned by the same group) against each other I finally got a decent discount. It just comes down to who wants to sell a LR4.

This.
Use email contact with multiple dealerships to negotiate a price.
It also helps to know whether the exact vehicle you want is rare or common.
Last month, I bought a 2012 HSE LUX in Buckingham Blue. Each dealer in my area had at least four or five of this exact model in stock, so all were willing to compete for my business. One dealer agreed to my bottom-dollar price within 20 minutes. 10 minutes later, a second dealer beat that by $1000 by giving me more for my trades.

msrp for the vehicle I bought was $59,725. Final negotiated price was $55,500 and $48,000 for two trades.

Also, a paid pricing report from Consumer Reports was well worth the $15 it cost.

key points: is it rare or common and how flexible you want to be on build....

orkney grey or silver HSE with CCP, Sat/HD radio and HDP were very very rare. There wasn't a single one in inventory in the US at the time I negotiated for a vehicle...or at least we never found one. I had no leverage and we subsequently found my car in transit to the US. My msrp was 57k, I got it for 54,025.

Not that bad of a price, but for a car that is a few months away from being a model year old, I would have liked to have done better.....
