Wipers move on their own when car shuts off

Does anyone know how to fix this?

When I turn the key off in the ignition. My wipers run once back and forth. I've been trying to figure out why this happens? Does anyone know how to fix this? They work fine otherwise.

Front ones or the rear one? What position is your wiper stalk in (auto or on)?

Both front and rear move. The position is in off. I guess neutral.

Are you sure the wiper stalk is not in "auto" or "I" position? If your wipers move when the stalk in at "off position", you should see your dealer. Sounds like a software issue.

Maybe it's time for You to get rid of the POS that you are burdened with, and chalk it up to bad Karma or whatever. For some reason, you seem to be one of the very few that can't get issues resolved to their satisfaction, and that's unfortunate.

I for one had empathy for you, as did others on this forum, however now it's becoming apathy ,at least for me, with your constant insinuations that all Land Rover owners will have the same misfortunes as yourself ....That's just sour grapes and you know it, so why persist

John, although I agree with you, you sure seem to know a lot what everyone else thinks. And be adamant about letting askewed know it. Askewed, I'm surprised you still hang around this board. I'm also surprised that you still own your car. Sure I expect mine to break, but every day it doesn't is oh-so-glorious. Man007b, I'd expect it would be a really simple fix at the dealer. Not sure anyone here can really help diagnose it other than to get a new wiper module or something...

I have had my LR3 for over a year now and have put it through some serious off roading hell right along side its big brother the DiscoNomad. I have never had a single significant issue with it. Sure I had a suspension fault or two one the trail but a quick restart always fixed it. Look my Discovery throws the famous Christmas Tree sometimes and a simple cleaning of the wheel sensor plugs and shes good to go until the next mud hole. My biggest issue with the LR3 is just that I have no idea how work on it. Everything is so complicated or covered under a mass of plastic. The interior is impossible to remove. Its really just best leaving it the way it is. But that doesn't mean it isn't a great vehicle.

Roverman, If it sounded like I was speaking for anyone other than myself, I apologize, that was not my intent. As for the rest, well the cynicism got to me so twice I've made a comment. I do not wait in ambush for Askewed, but I fail to see the point of some of the comments. I too have had issues with my 05 HSE, however, I do not presume everyone else will nor do I try to discourage others.

Good point sir. Enough said. I know that I'm not getting japanese quality, but that's not what I'm necessarily looking for. The reward of driving a vehicle with character and legendary history and capability makes it all worthwile.
