Misplaced trailer hitch key. I have the key code off the lock... Do I contact parts department or service department?

If you want to DIY it, you can pound out the roll pin that holds the green handle on, then turn the shaft.

Dealers may have a master key for it. My neighbor lost their hitch key plus it was rusted on and kept scraping the bottom of their steep driveway. Dealer was able to remove it somehow.

They can remove it by replacing the tumbler and handle. 1hr labor + $45 for the assembly.

Where is it located? I looked to see if I could find one on the handle itself like some other receivers have but no luck.

What's the code number? Maybe you get luck an some
one has an extra.

Right at the base of the green pull handle is a small hole for the roll pin. I used a small punch to tap it out. I then had to use a dead blow mallet to tap the handle off its shaft a bit so that the locking mechanism gets past its internal stop.

There’s a website to get the replacement keys made from your code, I’ll try and find it.

I was able to circumvent the locking mechanism and release the hitch. The lock is still intact and functional however I can now release the hitch whenever I like without having to use a key.
