This may have been mentioned, but that sounds almost identical to when my 2011 had one of the fuel injector’s go. Almost IDENTICAL.

By the time they had the case open, I wanted to have them do all four on that side, and because that left side was now going to operate so efficiently, that my guy recommended me to do the right side then to - so I did all 8. Sucked, but did the trick.

The process of driving that super rich vehicle to my shop, when the first one went, flooded and cooked my bank-1 catalytic converter - so I’ve had an engine light on due to that cat-related-code ever since, and that’s getting done this next week...

I am almost SURE... that one of more of your injectors crapped out.

The plugs could have caused that same thing... so replacing them MAY do it - but in my case, I was @ 128k on the 2011 - so we did all 8 injectors and all 8 plugs!

Hope this helps. Keep us updated brotha.

I think I was about $4200 OTD (at a local chain of tire/service shop - so still ******.... But not $5400

AFTER I had found my local small time independent LR shop - said he could have done it for $2500 which was disappointing.

The small time shop definitely made some money on me, and should have gone independent.

But it’s water under the bridge now!

Wait..$4200 USD to do the plugs, injectors and an oil change?

So this issue just happened to me yesterday on my 2011. Rough idle, lights, white smoke and fuel smell from the exhaust. Interestingly, I ran Techron Concentrate Plus Fuel System Cleaner through the engine about a month ago. Not looking forward to this journey.

I'm going to call my indy shop tomorrow and see if they can get me in this week.

Question: Can I drive the 4 miles to the shop in this condition or should I have it towed?

fuel pouring into your catalytic converter is no bueno. I’d have it towed.

So my after-market warranty will cover the 1 stuck injector. Should I do the rest of the bank while they are in there ($200/per injector at my expense)? My shop is saying maybe I just do the one that the warranty covers, and if the problem happens again, then I bring it back in again and have it paid for.

I have the warranty for another 2.5 years. I'm thinking I just do them to be proactive. Thoughts?

Pay to have it done now.

I don't know about you, but my LR4 always seems to drive better after I've forgone a vacation or some other luxury in order to keep it happy.

Thanks guys for reinforcing my gut feeling, I'm going to have them done. You're right, breakdowns never happen at a good time.

Just to provide some closure, injector #6 was misfiring. My extended warranty paid for that injector and all the labor to replace the whole bank and the plugs while they were in there. (Warranty paid $1000+ for 1 injector and labor). Along with changing air filters and some fluids, it's amazing how much better she runs now - and was fine before. Maybe it will help with the 8 MPG I get in SF!

At this point I have owned my 2011 with 76k miles for about 21 months. Seems like I'm checking a lot of the boxes, but my Red Shield Premier warranty (cost $4500 for 4 years) is paying off, so I can recommend them. Thought this might be valuable info to someone.

Rear wiper motor (paid $160 + parts supplied by warranty)
LCA bushings (paid $340 + parts supplied by warranty)
Coolant pipes (not paid due to plastic part) (bummer since this was $1300)
Injector and labor (paid $1000)

Was this the front and rear crossover pipes?

I've got a quote from an indy to do it for $460 plus parts that I'm kind of considering as I'm so busy with work right now.
