Just put the strut spacers on and be done with it. It opens up some more options.

I was having a beer a couple evenings ago and eyeing the 285/75R18's on my truck and thinking hmmmm?????

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm going with the spacers and the Arnott's. I was looking at the 315/70R17's on my truck the same way... that's what my LR really needs lol

I just replaced the struts on my LR4 this past weekend. I have 145k, rears were original, fronts were replaced at some point in its life.

The ride is now amazing. I purchased the LR4 with high mileage so i didnt really know what I was missing. after I removed them i compressed the struts by hand and it took about 1min to completely rebound.

to anyone that has over 100k, id highly recommend replacing the struts. the air bags seem to hide failed shocks. im sure you don't notice the slow degradation of ride over time.

it took about 1hr per corner.
for the fronts, I saved alot of time by using a long wobble extension on a rachet and reached the 3rd (inboard) nut on the top of the struts. only had to pull out the rubber heat shield on either side of the engine.
and a 15mm rachet wrench is a godsend for all the other nuts.

That is a smoking deal on front struts with air springs. The link went to LR3 springs. Are they the same?

physically, yes. maybe internally have different dampening? all i know is they fit correct and ride well.

i came to the conclusion that LR3 and LR4 struts are interchangeable since aftermarket (arnott) lists compatible OEM part numbers from LR3 and LR4 for their replacement struts.

These kits appear to be spacers that go above the strut, can anyone confirm that?

I can confirm that the sya kit is just a 2" spacer that sits on top of your struts to create an additional space for a failed suspension and drops to the bump stops. Thats what it's meant for. I can also confirm that 31s are the max tire size for clearing the bump stops without the spacers.

I'd recommend getting the sya kit with limiting straps that'll save your cv joints from over extending and binding. I would also recommend keep using oem height rods and calibrating your suspension prior to installing the sya kit. The lift rods tricks the suspension and you might as well trick it correctly with the iid tool.

As far as replacing struts, I've only heard good things about Arnott. Rockauto.com probably has the best deals on them.

I have an 08 LR3 with the full SYA kit and straps, and rhino lift rods plus the gap tool to raise it beyond. Overall about 4” lift to fit 33.2” tires. 275/70r18 General grabber X3 (love)

Arnott air struts are the best in my opinion but I’ve used the Atlantic British ones with great success too. Replacing all 4 is really the way to go. The air suspension valve blocks are all very easy to get to, the rear one being by far the most frustrating. If you are replacing the struts and adding the spacers just run longer line to the driver rear strut and make it easier to do the rear block. There’s nothing difficult to replacing nearly every part of the air system. The electrical wiring is another story.

I’ll also confirm not to go greater than 31.5” without the SYA kit and trimming frame horns up front and relocating the heater hoses out back, then flattening the body seam fin out back too. Some will say wheel spacers are the answer but that’s got too many geometry/weight/stress concerns for me.

The biggest reason to do the kit and rods rather than just the gap tool is a fail safe and with the spacers, your struts are at much lower pressure and the ride is much better. Then you still have the option to go into off road height and extended until the straps limit that. Just know that every inch you raise these beasts you are loosing in downward wheel travel... something you will miss bit is not detrimental.
