Found a '13 LR4 HSE in Marmaris Teal (pretty nice color, check it out) with cream interior, no HD package and at around 55K miles. Only one owner, who is willing to part with it for $19K. Never been taken off-road apparently, only used as a family daily driver. Loved it but was forced to part with it due to redundancy after covid.

Managed to get hold of the maintenance records from LR Jaguar. This would be my first LR so not entirely sure what to look for - I have test driven it and it drove like a beaut, but you can't tell much from a test drive.

Does anything jump off the page at you when looking through the records? It's only done about 55K miles but looks like the control arms haven't been replaced, which I hear is something to consider at around this mileage. Just want to know what to expect if I do pull the trigger.

without hesitation.

he cut the service intervals by half or more. if you were in the states I'd be buying to flip it because that's a $30k truck here right now.

I appreciate the input - it's clear the owner really loved it if he was taking it into the dealer basically every 6 months for 7 years straight. Out of curiousity I've had a look at similar mileage '13's in the States and you are right, upwards of $30k sometimes - really surprised me.

Makes me think I am looking a gift horse in the mouth...

Thats just the Dubai car market. Second hand luxury vehicles go cheap because everyone wants that new jam.

most definitely. The guy has had it listed at 19K for a few months now and has trouble getting someone to take it off him when most other places he'd be able to sell it for double.

You're not put off by the fact that things like the control arms and timing chains haven't been replaced yet?
The timing chain may never have to be replaced. It comes up a lot more often on forums than it does in real life. Frequent oil changes prevent the issues that wear the guides out. Plenty of people driving these motors with 200k on them on the original parts.

The control arms are a wear item. at 55k miles, they shouldn't need to be changed. that's a 75-100k depending on how hard the truck was driven and the surface it was driven on.

Is it diesel or petrol? Not sure what the Middle East spec was.

He originally had it listed at $24K and I came in at 13.5 and after a bit of back and forth he is ready to part with it at 19. It's petrol - you'll find very few diesel cars manufactured for this market although those that are do seem to be offroad vehicles.
