LR2 Gas Mileage??

I am waiting to see the new LR2 which goes on sale in the US in May. Does anybody know what will be the MPG rating for the LR2 and will it be able to take regular unleaded gas? The U.S. car blogs and magazine sites seem to have varying MPG numbers for the LR2. I have seen city MPG listed from as low as 15 to 22 and highway listed from as low as 25 to a high of 33. If its as low as some sites suggest, then Land Rover is going to have a tough time with the LR2 as buyers of small SUVs want good gas mileage. I know much depends on how one drives, but there must be a standard measurement for the LR2 out there from which one can judge. - RBH

Be aware that since this is a 2008 model it will use the new test procedure, which tends to reduce the city rating by 2-3 and the highway rating by 1-2.

My site has a real-world fuel economy survey, but too soon to have any data on the LR2. Hopefully within a few weeks.

LR2 Mileage

The manual and the gas cap "recommends" Premium fuel but I have been using regular and have not had an issue. Too big a difference here up in Canada even if there is any gain in terms of gas mileage, and it is a lease.........

In terms of mileage, I have been getting a mixed (Highway vs City) of about 17.6L per 100km......... Someone do the math !

(Just google it. It is rough 13.4 mpg combined City/Hwy). This is based on what the LR2 on board computer tells me.

It must be wrong on the computer, or the driver run very uneconomic.
I have LR2 diesel, the last 500km/310miles, I have a consumption of
6.5 L / 100km = 15.38 km / L = 36.18 mpg on country roads and in villages.

Two things:
1. Diesel vs. gas
2. Imperial (UK) gallons are larger than U.S. gallons
