...HSE Luxury (5.0 naturally aspirated V8, 150,000 miles, all original cooling system) is going into the local shop next week to address chronic coolant leakage (a couple of quarts to top it up after every local trip of 30 miles or so). The mechanics there are good, and they just did the job on...
Figured I would start a new thread on my coolant leak saga... All has been well for a while, however, I walked up the driveway this afternoon and saw a coolant puddle behind the rear wheel. I realize it is under the rear heating system, but thought I would get some feedback from you guys on...

Hey guys, over the past couple of weeks that I’ve been driving my LR4 I’ve noticed a bit of coolant loss. Nothing crazy but over the last 1k miles I’ve noticed that it’s dropped into the middle of the two full lines on the expansion tank. The water pump was done around 75k miles and I have 146k...
2012 LR4 US Spec 5.0
I noticed coolant temps are running 5-10 degrees more than normal if I sit for a couple of minutes in Drive (stoplights) blasting the AC.
Driving temps stay the same.
Temps only rise when stopped and in Drive w AC on. If I put it in park and rev over 1,000 rpm the...
Was checking my oil filter for any leaks and noticed a hose that seems to be leaking. The hose has "PA66-GF30" on it but when I search for that it only brings up Dico stuff? Below are a couple of pictures. One with me wiping it with a towel and then one thats a few seconds latter starting to...
Going to change the aux coolant pump. Like the title says -- would there be there any harm in topping up the coolant system (filled with the OEM Land Rover Coolant - orange color w/ OAT) with Pentofrost SF (which I believe is also OAT technology, but pink in color) ? I believe, color aside...
Does anyone know what a good range of temperatures looks like in a US Spec 5.0, and if fluctuations are normal?
I’m running live values using my GAP tool and the readings are fairly consistent:
Sensor 1 reads 89-91 degrees Celsius and I’m guessing 91 opens the thermostat as that’s when the...
Hi guys
I have a coolant leak (2010 LR4 5.0 hse) and was able to track it to a specific part. I'm having trouble identifying this part (name and number) and I'm not sure how to remove it (looks to be plastic and weak) from where it attaches into the engine block.
Advice on repair and part...
Posting this for those that want to see what a broken front crossover pipe looks like... (on mine anyway). After all the research and videos I found on this topic, I did not find any pictures of where/how they break. I have only heard where the pipe seams separated on the rear crossover...
My LR4 began displaying a low coolant light recently. I added about 1/2 a cup of coolant and it has been fine for a few weeks.
Well, today the light popped up after an hour of driving.
I popped the hood and low & behold the coolant was low. I slowly released pressure in the overflow...
A coolant temp sensor doesn't measure air. Unfortunately, lots of overheated engines because of this.
Coolant in the oil pan could be a cracked cylinder head.
Hi guys
I recently changed coolant hose under the supercharger of my range rover sport v8 surpercharged 2014 but after driving 10 kms it started making weird noises from engine shut down when i opened the upper coolant hose this is what i found can anyone tell that this is ?
It’s at it again. Last time I bypassed the heater core due to a leaking hose. Now the pressure when cold is back.
Doubting blown HG, as I can drive it 150 miles with 0 overheating issues.
...minor but extremely annoying, items that prevented me from finishing today.
1. Is there supposed to be a hose connected to the Y on this coolant line?
2. Also, does anyone have ideas/experience retrofitting this connection, OR know the o-ring specs for the push connector?
3. Does anyone...
...unrelated to what work they performed. Even though they worked right next to where leak was. Dealer quoted $2300 to fix and replace rear coolant lines. Spoke with GM waiting to hear back on what they can do to resolve this. Have not had any major issues with truck since new. Other...
50k miles later I am now replacing the upper coolant hose. This time I purchased the OEM Tool 24444, Airvac Coolant Refiller. Now I feel obligated to flush the coolant from my other vehicles. Thanks again everyone for the assistance the first time round.
