Where did you hear dealers can only pad the money factor by .001? I thought they could raise it as high as they can get away with. I would be happy to hear I'm wrong. Of course, the residual is set by the bank and can't be changed. Also, never put down cash at closing as your insurance would... -

Car Price Creep - Leasing
The prices of the cars have certainly increased and, in addition, the leases have gotten more expensive. The car makers are not subsidizing the leases as much by setting artificially high residual values. -

Frustration with '14 availability
I have the extended leather package on a 2013 and I'm really glad I got it, but I would never trade it for the climate package. The heated seats alone are a must, but I live in New England. That being said, I would never settle for my 2nd choice color. -

Wow, that's great news for 2014 buyers. I'm really enjoying the 825 watt HK system in my 2013 as it's a big upgrade over the less powerful system in my previous 2010. It sounds like the Meridien will be even better. -

I got $3,000 off in the Boston area, but think the dealer got a bit back on the trade. I'm pretty happy as I got exactly what I wanted (Causeway Grey Lux with ELP, etc.) and the residual value on the trade was still crazy high. -

extended leather pack
I'm glad I have it on my 2013. I think the leather with stitching above the instrument panel is what looks the nicest vs. my old 2010. I agree with the others who said you shouldn't reject a spec with everything you want but the extended leather, but you should go for it if given the chance... -

Been thinking about switching it up...
You're exactly right Count, and as evidence I would point to the crazy high residual value of the LR4 and the lackluster residuals on the FFRR and RRS. I got over 60% of MSRP when I sold my 3 year old LR4. I think the West Coast people are doing even better.
