My '05 LR3 HSE has a transmission fault and a whirring sound that increases with RPM. It only has 100km on it and it was fine before it sat for 3 months. Any ideas?
And maybe some 22" spinners and underbody LED lights! I would also add Countach doors and ssome metal blocks for when you drop it down on the frame!
Just kidding, It is the air suspension that is doing it. It takes some time to get used to it but after a while it grows on you.
tilt
I have been at 35 degrees. The first time you will think you are about to roll but remember how damn heavy these trucks and how much of that weight is low down. Get an aftermarket guage and you will not have to worry. And if you get it abover 40 degrees take a picture and hope you don't...
The TSB
My dealer does not want to replace the steering wheel. I am in Canada and he says there is no TSB on the wheel. Can anyone point me toward the actual TSB so I can show the dealer?
Altimeter
I have an '05 LR3 HSE and I noticed that with Nathan on Black Bear (the pic above) at last years LRNR. The only solution is to swith the display over to Metric. That way you will have readings in metres and I doubt you will be heading above 9999 metres (30,000 feet). It is in the...
Unless......
Unless they are talking about having sex in their Prius. Ooops, sorry that only works if it's a couple of midgets (I mean "little people"). Hell, in the back of my LR3 I can have a full-on orgy if I fold down the seats and open the rear hatch!
And OF COURSE my buddy Nathan Woods was the one who made the introduction to Adam in the first place. The sliders that I have are a production version of the sliders Nathan was lucky enough to get one year ago. Thanks for the heads up buddy!
MT/R's
My dealership brought some in. I got the last 6. No more until GY decides to sell them in North America. Check out the new Coopers if you are interested in serious mud tires. I saw a set at an event in Montrose. They look kick ass! Adam Spiker at Off Roving is the contact I have...
:biggrin:I just returned from the '07 Land Rover National Rally in Montrose, CO. Before going I had spoken to Adam Spiker of Off Roving who about some new sliders he and Rover Specialties were finalizing. Adam leads multi-day training/wheeling experiences for owners of new body style Rovers...
One caveat...
Goodyear claims that they will begin selling the 19" MT/R's this fall. I have a set and they are GREAT tires for off-roading. I have been riding on a set for over a year (replaced during the winter with the crappy stock HP's due to thei superior traction in rain) and I will...
better performance
I live in Vancouver, BC. Here we have easy access to 92 and 94 octane. I have switched between low octane (89) and high (94) and there is a significant difference in performance. The high octane give improved torque and mid-band power. I haven't noticed any difference in...
Bill Burke's choice
I tend to take whatever Bill Burke suggests as gospel. Here is the brand he uses (and, yes I asked about the LR3 soacifically). http://www.bb4wa.com/articles/Chains.htm
Hey Nathan,
Looks like a great run. Nice to see a second LR3 out with you guys. One day we might be able to get enough of us together in one place to do an all LR3 run. It seem to be we are still a novelty on the trails. Take care and keep posting! I am out of commission until my truck is...
Drive it Hard and put it away Wet
Leave the pampering to the guys with the Escaldes and the Porsches. You own a 4 wheel drive not a limo (or did you put 24" spinners and chrome sidesteps on it?). A spotless Land Rover is is an unloved Land Rover. JMHO.
I have a set of 19" MT/R's. I LOVE them! I bought them from my dealer. They had some imported to LR Canada but are sold out now. I understand that Goodyear will begin carrying them in NA by the end of August.
I have the 19" MT/R's on my '05 HSE
They rock off road. On road they definately HUM. And because of the much thicker sidewalls you will notice a bit harsher ride. Since the airbags are sooooo soft to begin with it is not an unpleasant ride. I would reccomend them to anyone who does any real...
