Considering an LR4. Would you buy one at 100k mileage?

I can find plenty online at maybe 70k miles for about $40k+ but I located Landmark with all options (HD included) but...100k miles. I don't need to purchase anytime soon I just want to get back into one.

Coolant issues and not really the LR3's fault

Ok so I've rarely been getting the low coolant level message. I'd check it and level is fine. This has actually gone on for a few years with zero issues. I recently saw it again and checked the fluid, all was well. I then let my daughter drive it and she was out all day and came home late. She...

Looking for advice on taking a stock LR3 up a notch to be a bit more capable

This is what I'm imagining then someone invites me to a trip and tells me halfway in "you might scratch up your truck today. You should consider adding plates...". Love the iKamper. Curious how you store it when not in use? I just don't have the room. GAP tool or similar I've wanted for a...

Looking for advice on taking a stock LR3 up a notch to be a bit more capable

So our LR3 has been my wife's daily for years and occasionally we've gone out with family into the hills around Apple Valley CA. We've been told there are other trails to explore but we shouldn't consider it without tires and sliders. So it's 80% on road, 20% off. I think it's time for a mild...

New LR4, Old LR3...what to do?

Same dilemma here. Bought our 2008 LR3 HSE (w/locker, all options + entertainment) new and have loved every 147k miles. It's due for control arms but otherwise is fantastic shape (all suspension bits are new including front LSD, hubs, and brakes all around). My only question I've been wondering...

Way too much body roll to the point it's dangerous

Thanks again and sorry for the multiple posts. I wouldn't have thought that many would be checking all of the more popular sites.

Way too much body roll to the point it's dangerous

Wife wanted an LR3 (2008 HSE), we've only been off road a couple of times. My son came of driving age and the wife bought a c-class for herself (wanted better mileage) and let the boy stay safe driving the LR to school. I haven't driven it in a couple of years and just this past weekend...

pls help me to find a good shop for my rover

I also need a recommendation in SoCal (specifically North Orange). Gerry at OC Rovers in Brea I may try. For me the front diff is starting to go. Or so I think. Drew

    Plasti-Dipped Wheel Arches and Plastics

This is my first post in years on our LR-3. My wife just this weekend bought a Mercedes for herself and I may now start driving the LR now and again. I'm immediately intrigued. Two questions, MX...that isn't an OEM grill. Where to get it? Paint on ours flaked off for no reason. We had it...

Guess how much my dealer charges for tie-rods?

OK, more detail: Not tie-rods but control arm bushings are shot (evidenced by clunking noises-reason we brought it in)=$roughly $1500 for all 4. Battery + neg cable = $424 Throttle body injector service = $260 (we notice a slightly rough idle and very slight surging, slight as in barely...

Guess how much my dealer charges for tie-rods?

Apparantly what I heard on my answering machine was $2400 for a "tie-rod assembly" and a new battery. Where in the heck do they get $2400 from? Thx, -Drew

    Extended Warranties

So this is the way to go? Ford's ESP? I have about 2k miles to go before the factory warranty is up on our 2008 HSE. Thanks,

    Syntheic Oild for LR3

My other car is a lightly modded Legacy GT Spec-B (turbo) and on our message boards it's been proven over more than a years time, and many oil analysis, that Mobil-1 just isn't that good. Frankly, compared to better oil options I wouldn't touch it. An oil that was in the top 5, and far...

    Problems with steering wheel surface

Also in Anaheim btw, 10+ years ago MBZ had similar shoddy service but I watched them grow over the years and it was very interesting to see a constant change for the better. As it is now, you make your appt., as you pull up they already id you and welcome you by name, put the tag on your car...

LR3 for me? got a couple questions.....

Noob to leasing...why is that? Several years ago (which is the last time I looked), leasing a Yukon was $400 more/mo over my Mercedes ML. This was using their each companies website to get an estimate (zero down, same terms, & no trade). Never looked at anything GM since.

2007 LR3 owners, how has the quality been so far?

Also, an 06 HSE here and only problem has been a hood latch that didn't want to lock (truck has 2 of them). Still loving it (just not the lousy mileage).

    LR3 Pics of Subwoofer

I for one think the sub in the HSE is one of the better oem ones I have heard. I had no idea it was back there. Now I have to go hunt down that CD :)

    winshield queston

Our windshield appeared fine one night then the next morning it had a 8" crack in it. This is in Sunny SoCal, and in the garage. ??? It is indeed expensive. BTW, 12k miles and zero issues.

    Problems With the LR3

Update just for the bloody heck of it...almost 6k miles on our 06 HSE and Zero issues. Great audio for a truck, very comfortable ride, very well engineered - from the placement of the window wash squirters to the defrost wires in most of the glass. List goes on and on...seriously, nothing comes...

    Supercharger & Brembo Brakes. . .on LR3

Can anyone dig up the specs of the OEM brakes? If the piston size/area covered are similar, and all other things being equal, you will not get a shorter stopping distance. Tire choice makes a much larger improvement here. You will get decreased fade if the overall mass of the Brembo rotor is...
