Intermittent problem, Has anyone encountered this?

Temp 75.

Winds from passenger side 15-20 mph. Windows and sunroofs open except drivers window closed.

Speed 65 mph, steady.

1/4 tank fuel.

Engine temp at middle of gauge.

65,914 miles.

Had been driving 20-25 minutes when car began missing, running OK for 30 seconds, then missing again, repeating this for a few miles until we rolled up all windows and closed sunroofs. Then *seemed* to be OK.

Gail opened front sunroof and car died almost immediately, would not restart. Pulled to side of road and tried unsuccesfully to restart. Starter spun engine normally.

Sat 5 minutes with hood open, then car restarted, ran perfectly remaining 20 miles home.

Check engine light not on.

The fuel pump, crank sensor, battery and battery cables were replaced last fall.

Surely I can't be the only owner with this problem. Help, friends!

maybe a short

have you had your rover scanned? What type of electrical codes is it pulling?
Maintenence history really would help! What have you done to it if anything pre owners if you know what they did. It may be just a quinky-**** that those problems happened at the same time or you might have serveral different issues. Check for burn't fuses in both fuse boxes the one under stering wheel and the one in engine.
