I replaced my plugs and wires yesterday, and now when I go to start the engine, it automatically over revs all the way up past 3500 RPMs. Im pretty sure its a vacuum line that i may have accicdently hit, but i've looked all over my 1996 Discovery 4.0 and I cant find anything. Does anyone have any suggestions? This is driving me crazy, and obviously I cant drive it in this condition. Thanks in advance for any help, im a new member here. I've used the search fuction, but found nothing on this topic.

Sounds like something has either kinked the throttle cable, the TPS is stuck or as you say a vacuum issue, but I would bet on the other two.

Did you check the gap when you put them in? Put the old ones back n to see if the problem goes away. Could be the stepper motor or a bad battery or alternator. Need more info.
