I wish I could tell you I have personal experience with them, but I don’t.

That said, there are a couple things I feel you should know about pretty much all the remanufactured engines out there.

Most of the internals they’re going to use are not OEM LR parts. Pretty much all the bearings, pistons, rods etc. come from China. That said, I bought a whole piston, ring, bearing set off of eBay as it was the only place I could find it. I even called Atlantic British and they sourced their pistons from the same manufacturer...and they only had 3 in stock. Ok, it might not have been the same manufacturer, but their pistons and rings also came from China. Also, if you have a newer engine, especially the 5.0L, they can not sleeve it! So if they start telling you they’ve put new sleeves in a 5.0 block, walk away! That’s why those stinking blocks are impossible to find....once you blow a piston, they’re toast and you need a new one!

All this is to say, I too have seen this company’s ads on Craigslist, and they seem to know what they’re doing....they sure charge you for it. However, if you think you’re going to get 100% true LR OEM parts, think again. Honestly, I don’t even know if you can buy brand new OEM ones as I don’t even think they’re made anymore....I could be wrong though.

It’s up to you, but if you’ve got the time and access to a lift, I’d buy the parts and do the rebuild yourself! But, I have A LOT of trust issues when it comes to others working on my engines.

Just my $.02

Aren't most LR OEM parts also from China?

In theory...no. In reality, they’re from Ford....so....probably, yes! Lol

I will say I think it’s hilarious to shell out a tone of $$ on “genuine” Land Rover parts only to see FoMoCo stamped all over everything!

Could you elaborate on the Re-sleeving and why that is not possible? Not trying to argue or anything, just trying to learn! :) I was doing some researching this morning and re-sleeving aluminum blocks seems relatively common? I couldn't find anything specific about Land Rover 5.0 engines though...

To be perfectly honest with you, I can’t give you an exact reason as I’m not an expert in this area. However, I do know that I have been told by several LR engine specialists that the 5.0 block is not able to be repaired should you blow a cylinder.

If I had to hazard a guess, it’s because the sleeve isn’t flanged, and all the cylinders are cast together. There’s not any room to machine a flange groove for the new cylinder. Almost all the previous blocks, 4.4 & 4.6 for example had “top hat” sleeves, which allowed them to be replaced....it also cause A LOT of problems with sleeves coming loose or cracking.

When you look at the inside of the block, all 4 cylinders are cast together...so you’d have to replace them all....and I don’t know if that’s possible with the way the block is designed. Just look at the pic below. I found this one on eBay:

Can you elaborate more why "it's hilarious" for the LR parts only to see FoMoCo stamped all over everything! ???.....~~=o&o>......
