Hey guys,
So my newest problem is that my 95 D1 keeps cutting off at red lights or parking lots, pretty much whenever i drive a good distance at a decent speed and then when i try to idle (at a light for instance) the engine cuts off. It usually (with the exception of one time) will start right back up on the first crank. Im thinking it may be the fuel pump or filter. But i was hoping for a little help before i shell out the money. Thanks guys,
Kevin P.

sounds like it could also probably just use a basic tune up too, if it hasn't been done for a while, doesn't sound like a major concern though to me, new fuel filter and tune up should do it, run some lucas fuel additive through as well.... best guess is you have dirty clogged fuel filter with potentially poor quality fuel. Did it start fairly quickly after filling up the tank, did you run the tank too low....all could have assisted in this....

Wouldn't hurt to clean the stepper motor either.... since that does control idle

Hey guys,
Thanks for all the help, im going to try a basic tune-up tomorow and see how that goes, i hadnt even thought of the timing being off, but that seems to make alot of sense to me, especially if its idling a little rough. Also where is this stepper motor located, and how do i go about cleaning it, thanks for any help guys,
Kevin P.
