98 disco electrical

My poor disco is chugging along but today it cranks and runs normal but nothing else works. no lights, air, windows and there's a fairly loud high pitch sound when the car is turned on and wont go off. my battery light stays on as well. all fuses look good...I need help guys!!!!

So, go start with the charging system, hit a parts store for a free charging system test, should be between 13.6 and 14.4 volts.

what will that tell me? what if I'm not in that range? Thanks for suggestion number one!

That the alternator is not charging enough.
