Is Land Rover -completely- doing away with purely internal combustion engines? I'm fine with hybrid and electric options but I personally would never want anything to do with any of that.

find a brand that isn't moving towards that... the powers that be have decided that this is what we want regardless of other options.
i agree and i believe hydrogen would have been the better option but the people who are smarter than us have decided for us.
in this region the politicians are already banning or discussing the ban of gas powered leaf blowers, mowers, snow blowers etc.
our landscaping company has already switched to 56v landscaping equipment because of it.
Land Rover is a global company, and there are cities in the globe that are beginning to phase in a combustion engine-ban within city limits. Hence the plug-in hybrid drivetrains that allow a 30 mile range on electric only.
I'm cautiously optimistic regarding the ingenium engine. Land Rover has proven to be fairly decent reliability-wise over the last 15 years when it does a wholesale redesign on something.
The diesels are still straight combustion though, aren't they?
In some markets at least, you will be able to pick between coils and EAS (whether coilers make it to North America remains to be seen... based on previous LR models, such as the Disco/LR3, probably not.)
