Took our '08 LR3 in for the 30K service. Dealer calls and tells me he needs the vehicle for another day to replace the front tie rods and bushings that are worn out. Both are under warranty so no cost to me. We do take it on the beach weekly during the summer months and the dirt road to the beach is rough with rocks and holes. Just seems really early to wear out these parts, but it is a heavy vehicle. Makes me wonder about keeping it long-term out of warranty vs. trading it in on an LR4 when the warranty is up.

Yes, mine had it done at 25,000 miles. I would insist on the dealer putting in new control arms with the newly designed ball joints.

Yes, I did. Several times over the +/- 75,000 miles I owned it

Truck pulling to left or right, steering wheel not on center, loose feeling in steering, steering not "smooth", particularly at slower speeds.

65,000 and so far no problem. Crossing fingers that if they do go that it will be in the next 9,000 so my extended warranty covers em.

How much do a set of tie rods and bushings usually run if performed by someone other than dealership?

outer tre's are <$40 new. bushings aren't badly priced either but most places want you to buy the entire control arms.
