battery stays on the dashboard when driving

The battery light of my LR3 keeps staying on whenever i take the car out. I ave checked the battery and alternator and the are both fine. what could be thecause of the problem?

They both can not be fine, how did you check them and what was the voltage with the engine on? It has to be between 13.6 and 14.4 volts.

Which of the components shld be 13.6 and 14.4 volts?

It is not which one, when the engine is running that is the voltage range you need to work all the computers.

When u talk about computers are u talking about radios etc ? Cos the radio is working fine above volume 20..

How did you check to verify if the battery and alternators were fine and be specific.

I tested it using a voltmeter and I also used the system to chk and the only fault it brought out was a brake switch fault.. Any idea what that means? Thanks

change brake light switch, start from there , it is a common part that causes all sorts of problems.

No, don't start throwing parts at it before you know for sure what is wrong. Go to a local parts store and get a free charging system test performed. If the is a problem, get back to us with what it is, don't buy a junk battery or rebuilt alternator, check with us first.
