I have a problem with the 1996 Discovery 1. The Crank Position Sensor sending wires were baked and shorting out from the sensor plug all the way up to the intake manifold.
I replaced the crank positioning sensor and replaced the wires with 2 new 18 gauge wires. I reinstalled the sensor and housing and the engine still doesn't start.

Checked the inertia switch its ok
The fuel pump is pumping fuel its ok
The immobilizer is correct and not armed
I think the ECU has deactivated the coil packs. Do I need to have the LR dealer reboot the ECU.

Is there anything else that could keep the discovery from starting???
