I can't find any wheels larger than 16" for the disco 1, I want something like 18"-22" and can't find one damn wheel company that makes are horrible lug pattern of 5 on 6.5", I absolutely hate that lug pattern these are the only cars ever made besides the classic and defender that uses this pattern, go figure, if anyone can help I would be very greatful

The lug pattern that you hate is actually stronger than the more later ones. I guess LR decided that the majority of newer LR's won't be doing hard off-roading and therefore the chance of the wheel departing from the lugs due to stress is minimal. I guess instead of taller rims and smaller profile tires, you will have to be content with smaller rims and taller tires.

It doesn't help your situation I suppose, but Joey recommended to me the Dunlop Mud Rover tire...they will be available again starting March 26...they look like an amazing off road tire for the price. Otherwise I've seen tons of really amazing off road tires that will work on our standard stock rims that run between $250-350 a tire. There is that alternative for you, if you didn't already know that.

Unless I am mistaken, Nick is going for the bling bling side of LR mystique. Well Nick, for the right money I am sure you can special order anything you want. Just call around the the custom rim shops in Cali and they can make you a one off set.

Any yes I am sure you can fit a 22" rim under the Disco as long as you go with a nice low profile tire.

I have no problem with Nick wanting 22s, I think a person can do what ever they want to as long as it doesn't endanger others (although spinners can make you dizzy). But what are the purpose of these wheels, besides looks of course. If you put these on a sport ute, doesn't it completely compromise its ability to be a utility vehicle. No one wants to take a $400-4000/ wheel vehicle in mud, dirt, sand, or snow. I would even be hesitant to drive them in the rain, because of road grime. I see dubs like foot binding, just ruins good transportation for style points. I say, save your money buff your 16s, put some good mud/all terrains on your D1 and call it good. Or save your money and put a down payment on a LR3. I have always found that financially and emotionally it is cheaper to get what you want instead of trying to turn what you have into something else. Completely opinionated statement based on my short life.

don't even bother trying for a one off set of custom wheels. Even if you could convince someone to make them (to your design) you would not be prepared to pay the asking price. I remember getting a price years ago from Overfinch for a set of 8x16" rims for a D1, and they wanted over 500 English pounds per rim. I didn't buy them cause they look crappy anyway.

But Roland and Cole, Joey's right, anything is possible within a price range for what Nick is expecting and it's all waiting in Southern California. Today I'm sure you could get something similar to that Overfinch setup in S.Cal for half that English£. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I wouldn't do it, but then again I just got back from Miami and LA and SPT UTL Vehicles slammed to the ground with all sorts of ground effects and etc were everywhere. Like I said I wouldn't do it, but I'm an old man now, and not too big into the new and hip thing, but to each their own. Love to see picts nick if you make it come true.
