I hate to resurrect such an old thread, but...

I tried to install a D34 yellow top yesterday and the terminals were "backwards." They needed to be swapped (positive for negative) so that I could rotate the entire battery and make it connect to the cables.

How in the heck did you guys get a yellow-top to simply "fit perfectly?" Can you PLEASE report the precise model number? (I'm supposing there may be an "R" after the number)

Thanks in advance.

This is a little nutty...what side of the vehicle is your battery on, Flysurfer? Per the picture it looks to be on the driver's side of the engine compartment. Mine is on the passenger side.

?????????????????????????????

So...what about the primary battery? Are you guys using OEM on that?

I guess that would make sense! What about a Red-top D34R battery? That one has the terminals reversed! I think that could be a better primary than the OEM battery.

Interstate MTPH8...

for the main battery. Yellow top for the secondary. They are both perfect fits. Yellow top is identical to the above post.

What about an Optima 34R? It's a red top; fits the specs and is the same size as the yellow top, but with the terminals reversed. It is not a deep cycle batt but has 800 CCA and should do the job. Ought to fit reasonable well in the primary battery compartment...but maybe not perfectly.
