Headlight Swap '01 to '04 or '05 or?

I have a 2001 Disco II and I'm considering swapping the headlights and blinker modules with a different year model. Possibly the 2004 or other.
My question is fit.
Since the body style is basically the same shouldn't I be able to do a simple swap?
The '01 lights are 2 piece and the '04 is a one piece.
Has anyone tried this and succeeded without having to do any major body mods to make it work?

Someone did this a few years ago, you have to modify the opening as the newer lights are larger in the back of the assembly and once you start there isn't a way to come back if you need to.

Guess I'll just have to get a look at some at the junk yard and see what's involved.
